[Calif.] The Committee to Review the Operations and Structure of the Commission on Judicial Performance has less than a year to report recommendations that could change how California disciplines judges.
“This is as good as we’ve ever felt coming out of a public hearing,” Kathleen Russell, executive director of the Center for Judicial Excellence, said after the committee’s meeting. “We feel good about the commitment to transparency and listening to the public that we heard.”
The San Rafael-based Center for Judicial Excellence pushed for the 2019 audit of the Commission on Judicial Performance and the subsequent committee that will review the agency.
