Jahan Oveissi killed son, Ahbteen, before committing suicide, police say
MAULDIN, S.C. — Police held a news conference Tuesday afternoon to give more details about the deaths of an Upstate father and his son.
Jahan Oveissi, 49, and his son, Ahbteen Oveissi,13, were found dead Monday afternoon at their home on Laurel Meadows Parkway in Mauldin, Sgt. Ben Ford said. The coroner said both died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Ford said that Oveissi’s brother, whose name has not been released, became concerned when he could not reach him by phone. He went to the home and found Oveissi and his son dead in an upstairs bedroom.
Oveissi’s wife, Ahbteen’s mother, is in Iran, Ford said. He said the couple was going through a divorce. [Read Full Article]
