Robbie liked pretending to be a dinosaur, and could read chapter books by kindergarten. His mother remembers the 7-year-old as “super sweet” and “attention-getting goofy.”
William, 5, was mom’s “rough and tumble.” He was “loud and intense.” Happy.
Both are gone.
Their father killed them, according to the local sheriff.
“I am a very private person living through a nightmare,” said Liegh Ann Malone, the boys’ mother.
Around 2 a.m. on July 30, fire crews responded to a blaze at a home in the 1200 block of South White Oak Road, just outside Marshfield. Inside, they found three bodies — those of Robbie, William and their father, Robert Kinney, 45.
All three had a single gunshot wound to the chest. Webster County Sheriff Roye Cole has said he believes Kinney shot his children and set the house ablaze before turning the gun on himself.
