A Marin nonprofit is applauding the audit approved this week of a state judicial oversight agency that they say has failed to adequately investigate complaints against judges and discipline misconduct.
The Joint Legislative Audit Committee unanimously approved on Wednesday the first audit of the California Commission on Judicial Performance. Established in 1960, the commission is tasked with protecting the public against malfeasance within the judicial system.
The San Rafael-based Center for Judicial Excellence, which has been a longtime critic of the Marin County court system, lobbied for the state audit that was requested by a bipartisan group this month. [Read Full Article]
